Fannie Mae Offers Help To Unemployed Homeowners

Fannie Mae announced that it will provide more mortgage assistance to help unemployed homeowners stay in their homes. Options include offering a forbearance period, up to year, for those who qualify.

Beginning March 1st 2012, Fannie Mae will require mortgage companies to extend the forbearance program to eligible unemployed homeowners for six months. Freddie Mac also announced a similar program earlier this week.
